From the moment we walked in the hotel the year before the wedding the friendliness of your staff was apparent. It started at the front door and continued past the front desk and into the H5O Bistro. Staff inside the restaurant showed us around the potential reception area and the manager on duty that day who showed us the Columbia Room upstairs where the wedding ceremondy could be held. The initial reception we received at the hotel was problably the main reason we chose your hotel as our venue.
From that point on the Sales Manager Beth Price helped us through the process of securing the hotel for our event and our guests. Her communication skills were instrumental as she dealt with not only us and our wedding planner but our family as well over the course of the year. She was always available when any questions or problems arose and her help was greatly appreciated every step of the way.
Thank you to Jayde Zumwalt for coordinating the food and beverage for the evening, and for her suggestion of the sparkling sake for our toast. Excellent! And thank you to Chef Nic Yanes; the menu he prepared for the evening was exactly what we were looking for and the food was absolutely delicious. The sushi bar was an excellent touch and a hit with our guests. All of the food, beverage and service for the evening were fantastic and exceeded our expectations.
Other notable staff: Jacob, Restaurant Manager, Ethan, Front Door Porter and the overnight front desk staff member whose name I didn’t get but went out of his way to assist me when I lost my phone in a cab at three in the morning.
We had such a wonderful time at your hotel and are so glad we chose the Hotel Fifty to host our wedding. We have heard nothing but compliments from our guests and we wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend your hotel to any couple searching for a unique wedding venue in downtown Portland.
I want to tell you H5O really has it going on…Starting with you :-) Your staff is young, yet very professional…they are all extremely polite, helpful and kind. Traits that I appreciate in all who serve the public…Hotel Fifty was just what I was looking for! My family traveled long distances. It was as comfortable as you stated :-) Everyone commented on the beds. Convenience to the venue perfect! I truly regret not having the rehearsal dinner here…Thanks again for all your time working with me, you are wonderful at your job! Genuinely diplomatic, good problem solving skills, apparently encouraging leadership of your staff to do the same…my son’s wedding was THE MOST SPECIAL DAY of my LIFE!
